What did the first church do? What was its function? These are some fo the questions we address in the end of Acts chapter two. In chapter three we discuss the healing of a crippled man. What is the responsibility of the church to those in need? Is it just monetary? or is it more? Peter and John say we don't have any money but what we do have we are willing to give you. A gift surpassing any other gift - healing (both physically and spiritually)!
These non-denominational Bible studies are led by Dr. Val and recorded live. Some 20-25 men meet weekly at 6:30 AM for an hour. They study and discuss a passage of Scripture. Today's podcast continues with our study of Acts chapter two. We continue to look at some thorny issues with a bit of humor and hopefully humility. We discuss Peter's sermon on Pentecost and the ramifications or what is meant in the Greek in verse 38
Acts 2:38 (NIV)
38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
What does this verse mean Is baptism required to be saved, to become a follower of Christ? This is one of the questions we deal with in this recording.

This week we bring our study of Hebrews to a close. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever; therefore don't get caught up in strange nd "new" doctrines.
Because our High Priest's sacrifice was performed outside of the camp, we also must leave the safety and security to go with him outside of the camp. As New Testament priest we look at our responsibility to offer spiritual sacrifices.
Then we look at our responsibility to submit and obey those who are in spiritual authority over us. And finally, a blessing is bestowed on us.
And finally, a blessing is bestowed on us.
This podcast is a great wrap up to our study of the epistle of Hebrews.

In this podcast we compare the mountain of fear and the law to the mountain of joy and grace. We look at the different ways of experiencing God as a "consuming fire." Fire purifies but it also warms, lights our path, and provides protection from the evil that awaits us in the darkness.

Hebrews 12:1-13 What does discipline mean?
Monday Apr 10, 2017
Monday Apr 10, 2017
What does it mean when God chooses to discipline us? Does it mean He loves or hates us? Could it be that we misunderstand what discipline is for? If you are in sports or study music when a coach corrects your technique or makes you practice a drill until you can perform it well does it mean that the coach hates you? Of course not. So why do we get mad at God when He corrects us and teaches us the correct way of doing His will?
These are some of the questions we will be pondering in this week's podcast.

How do we get faith like that?
This podcast explores these questions and more.
