What does it mean when God chooses to discipline us? Does it mean He loves or hates us? Could it be that we misunderstand what discipline is for? If you are in sports or study music when a coach corrects your technique or makes you practice a drill until you can perform it well does it mean that the coach hates you? Of course not. So why do we get mad at God when He corrects us and teaches us the correct way of doing His will?

Don't you love that God's heroes are less than perfect? That their faith is often weak but still active. Rahab is one of these heroes. She has the wrong ethnicity, wrong gender, and wrong profession, yet her faith is commended and she is listed in God's Hall of Fame. And she ends up becoming one of Jesus Christ's ancestors.

What would it be like to be a person without a country? To be a pilgrim and an alien seeking for a new homeland? Sounds like Abraham& Sarah’s position is relatable to a lot of people in today’s world.

Further, we look at the outcome of both the lack of faith and what happens when we place our trust back in God and His promise. The promise to a barren woman was that she would have a son. Can you imagine someone giving you a promise like that and ten years later that promise is yet to be acted upon? So you come up with “Plan B!” What a mess that turned out to be! It only took 25 years for that promise to come to pass. But Hebrew Eleven is not about our failures but rather our victories. Sarah and Abraham received their promised son because of their faith.

What would you do if God asked you to pack up everything and start traveling, but he failed to tell you exactly where you were going? He asked you to trust Him and that you would like the final destination.

Abraham did!

Further what if He asked you give up the one thing that he promised you decades ago? What if He asked you to specifically disobey one of the major commands of life - kill someone and even worse kill someone that was the most precious person in your life? Would you do it? Even if you didn't understand why?
